The Morgan Creek/Universal project follows a family that moves into what appears to be the ideal residence in small-town Connecticut. However, the husband (Craig) and wife (Watts) are disturbed to discover that their beautiful new home was the site of another family’s slaughter, believed to be at the hands of the husband who survived.

The script was written by David Loucka. Production is slated to begin February in Toronto. Watts is at Sundance this week for her ensemble drama “Mother and Child,” directed by Rodrigo Garcia. Sheridan last directed the Iraq-themed movie “Brothers.”

Sony Pictures is prepping a Blu-ray release of ‘The International,’ telling retailers to expect an early-June arrival for the action-thriller.

Making only a minor blip at the box office earlier this year with a $35 million domestic take, the Clive Owen-Naomi Watts starrer will receive a Blu-ray release on June 9, day-and-date with the standard DVD.

Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080/AVC MPEG-4 video and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.

No word on extras, but watch for final details in the days ahead.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.95.

Today, Eastern Promises was released on DVD. Yes kind of unusual of a release date but it sure does make for a nice Christmas present . I will be making screencaps from the DVD and its special features, check back for those goodies.

Naomi has just signed on to do Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

HEAVILY pregnant Naomi Watts isn’t letting motherhood – or nationality – stand in the way of a good role.

Naomi has just signed on for a supporting role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, reportedly to play Draco’s nasty mother Narcissa Malfoy.

Naomi – whose baby with partner Liev Schreiber is due in a few weeks – won’t have to start work on the sixth Potter instalment until September, but clearly has been lobbying hard for the job.

Landing a coveted role in the all-British cast certainly explains a few things she’s said in the press.

Back in April, Naomi miffed many of her Aussie fans when she told a British newspaper she felt more like a Pom, despite spending her teenage years and a good part of her adult life in Sydney.

“I consider myself British and have very happy memories of the UK,” she said at the time. “I spent the first 14 years of my life in England and never wanted to leave. When I was in Australia I went back to England a lot.”

Nationality aside, Naomi as Narcissa would make sense given her platinum blonde hair and milky white complexion.

Also joining the Half-Blood cast is Joseph Fiennes – real life brother of Voldemort Ralph Fiennes – and one-time boyfriend of Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend.
