Synopsis
Academy Award® nominee Naomi Watts ("21 Grams") reprises the role of investigative reporter Rachel Keller
in "The Ring Two," the sequel to the 2002 horror hit "The Ring." Hideo Nakata, the director of the original
Japanese blockbuster "Ringu" upon which the "The Ring" was based, directed "The Ring Two," which marks his
American film debut.
The story picks up six months after the horrifying events that terrorized Rachel Keller and her son Aidan
(David Dorfman) in Seattle. To escape her haunting memories, Rachel takes Aidan and moves to the small coastal
community of Astoria, Oregon, to start fresh. However, Rachel's resolve quickly turns to dread when evidence at
a local crime scene-including an unmarked videotape-seems eerily familiar. Rachel realizes that the vengeful
Samara is back and more determined than ever to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death.
"The Ring Two" is produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, who also produced "The Ring." Also returning
from "The Ring" is screenwriter Ehren Kruger. The executive producers are Mike Macari, Roy Lee, Neil Machlis and
Michele Weisler.
Joining Naomi Watts and David Dorfman in the cast are Simon Baker (TV's "The Guardian"), Elizabeth Perkins ("Speak")
and Academy Award® winner Sissy Spacek ("Coal Miner's Daughter," "Carrie").
The behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Gabriel Beristain ("Blade II," "Dolores Claiborne"),
production designer Jim Bissell ("Jumanji," "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial"), costume designer Wendy Chuck ("About Schmidt,"
"Bad Santa"), editor Michael Knue ("Spawn," "The Crow: City of Angels"), special effects coordinator Peter Chesney ("Men
in Black," "The Mothman Prophecies"), visual effects supervisor Betsy Paterson ("Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed"), and
six time Oscar®-winning special effects makeup designer Rick Baker ("Planet of the Apes," "Men in Black").

Trivia
- There is a reference to a "Dr. Koji" by the psychiatrist. This is a nod to the original writer of the Ring books, Kôji Suzuki.
- When Rachel takes the pills and puts them on the sandwich for Aidan, she crushes the pills into a powder. The medicine bottle
has a label that can be seen with the name Tony Bonaventura, who is the property master for the film.
- When Naomi Watts and her son go to the outdoor Astoria Antique Fair Swap Meet, Watts picks through a bunch of used VHS videos
at a vendor's stand - and all the movies are Dreamworks titles, such as Old School (2003), and Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004).
- During the shooting of a carnival scene, locals mistook the set for an actual carnival and wandered in. They were included as
extras in the film.
- Even with three artists, Samara's make-up took over five hours to complete.
